Another Doppler Question :P

Ok sooo....

i got a doppler today and ofc knowing its to early to hear hearbeat ( about 9 weeks today) i decided to give it ago anywho

1) listened to my own heartbeat for two mins to hear the rhythm
2) listened to my sons heartbeat ( cause he wanted a go )
3 ) plugged it into gaming chair and found out it works via that!!

( can sit in the chair with beans HB in surround sound later date!!)

4 ) traced my belly button down to my pubic bone and had a listen, nothing, went to left a little bit and found beans HB!! went right and found another hb :S
both had swishey sounds in the back round and where at a faster rate than my own!

5) googled ' heartbeats on dopples ' watched youtube vids, they sounded like what i heard lol

6) came on here to ask am i mental or could i be hearing my own hb either side of my bellybutton down low?

i wasn't expecting to hear anything, just hear what i shouldn't be listening for when im 12 weeks lol

im in a giggle atm, even if it is only my own heartbeat atm im so excited again! like getting the + on the HPT lol

(i had a scan at 6 weeks and only one bean was seen in there !)

Down one side (cant remember which) by your pelvic is a main artery that can get picked up sometimes and sound differant to your hb because its blood rushing rather then a pumping sound maybe yoy got that.
I picked that up a few times when first trying.
Cool that you can use it with the gaming chair though, wondee if pc world will kick me out if I go in their shop and trt using thier display chaires for this

right now you wouldnt hear a proper chug chug (u may though lol) as bean is still behind the pubic bone, so go along the top of that and tilt the doppler downward

I didnt hear anything til 11 weeks on the dot! good luck though x

I have been able to hear my bubs hb since 9 weeks I have found I am able to pick my own hb realitively anywhere on my abd and the artery are on either side (rather low) and give a swoosh sound. I agree with one of the other posters that its better to follow your pubic bone and angle downward. You can pretty easily teel the difference between you and the baby b/c it will be MUCH faster than yours. I work in the medical field so I think it helps but my fiance doesnt and was able to find it and tell the difference. Also I have had some days where it was taken me almost a half hour before I was able to find it. Just have patience....it can be difficult b/c it is just in such a tiny spot and depending on how you angle the wand makes a difference! gl!

try counting it out....or how about check your pulse on your wrist and see if it is about the same as what you hear. Most likey it will be hard to find the hb since you are still early but you never know.

I was able to hear my beans heartbeat at 9 weeks!! If you are listening in two very, very close spots it might be your beans heartbeat. I am able to hear my babies heartbeat in about an 2 inch width spot.
