Missed Miscarriage??

I had my sonogram yesterday which dated my baby at 6 weeks...when I should be 9 weeks. I held out hope for a late ovulation (which did happen bc my husband was away during my regular ovulation time) however you are supposed to count back 4 weeks from the sonogram date (in my case count back 4 weeks from 6) for your conception date which for me would be be 3/7...but I got a positive preg test on 3/4....to me is seems medically impossible that I didn't have a missed misarriage? Could their measurements be wrong?

I know it is hard to wait, but the only way to know if you did have a mmc is with a sonogram. In the mean time you should try to relax ( easier said than done I know that believe me) But there is still a chance things are going well and you stressing can harm your little one.

My prayers are with you. I hope time flies and everything is ok

You could have what is called a blighted ovum, or missed mc. If you got a + before the conception date than it doesnt look good. I do want to say that they can measure wrong. Babies grow at 1 mm a day until 12 weeks, so even a few mm could make a big difference. Hopefully they offered you another scan. They should re-check in a week or so to see if there is any progression. Did they detect a fetal pole?

I know how stressful it can be, I have had 2 losses and its something nobody should have to go through. I hope they are wrong hun. GL

Did they find a heartbeat? If you were supposed to be 9 weeks and there was no heartbeat, then that would be worrisome, but if you heard a heartbeat, then maybe things will be okay. I have had 2 losses, both last year and the first one was a missed miscarriage, it was horrible and I'm very sorry if you are experiencing this tragedy too. There are loss support forums here you may find helpful

My first miscarriage was like this unfortunately. There was a heartbeat but it was very slow and the so-called "conception date" would have been when I already knew I was pregnant. In that case, I knew it wasn't going to work out as it wasn't possible for my dates to be so far wrong. Two weeks later after a horrendous wait, the mmc was diagnosed.

However, a lot does depend on how early you were scanned (very early scans can be notoriously inaccurate) and how possible it is that your dates are out. In your situation I would be prepared for bad news but not write it off just yet.

Thinking of you and hoping it turns out to be good news.

I'm so thankful for all the answers and my heart goes out to all those who have lost I think I'm in such disbelief I just needed some opinions but I'm afraid with no heartbeat I don't think it's possible for a baby (who is supposed to grow at 1mm a day to be weeks off ) there was a fetal pole I have another scan in a week but I know it my heart it didn't make it

I know I'm grasping at straws but is it possible that the egg was fertilized and my hg levels rose enough to get a positive test but it implanted afterwards??

Honey I'm so, so sorry. This doesn't look good and it's such a terrible wait. I know no words in the world can help at the moment. This will be a day by day thing. Do you have some support at home? Please stick around and talk as much as you need to. There's also an incredibly supportive bunch of ladies in the miscarriage support forums - I know they pulled me through my darkest hours.

I hope I'm wrong and it all works out.

My thoughts and love are with you
