It's between 8-10 weeks Have you seen your doctor yet to say your pregnant? I had to see my doctor first, who then gave me an info booklet and number to contact at my local hospital so I could book my midwife booking appointment.... they don't send a letter (although this may vary depending on region).

ooops, just seen you've been to the docs!!!! Hope the other info helps!

I rang doctors at 6 weeks and they didnt want to know, so rang back at 8 weeks and they got midwife to call me back and she booked me in for 10 weeks.

I know its not nice to think about, but maybe they dont book people in too early due to risk of miscarriage etc

I think the previous posts has more than covered it, but thought I'd add my penny to it! I wasn't actually registered with the doctors when i found out i was pregnant. I had to have a 'booking in' appointment with the nurse before they would register me fully with the doctor. I expected to have to see the nurse and then see the doctor so they could confirm the pregnancy, but in fact she just said 'Leave your details at the main desk and the midwife will call you'. I was a bit baffled, but sure enough I got a call from the midwife the other day. She's a community midwife so will be coming to my flat, and i'll be about 8 weeks. I was quite shocked that nothing else is done between now and then, but there you go! x

I had my booking in appointment at 6 weeks, but that was only because the next available appointment in my area and the surrounding areas would have pushed me to 10 weeks and they like to have everyone seen at 8 weeks.

It depends entirely from area to area I think, for example my doctor wanted to see me first and give me some advice and such before referring me to the midwife team.

Hey, I know it is very different in every area (I am in Birmingham). I wen to my doctor when I found out and I was 5 weeks, she didn't seem to care much and told me to give a urine sample and then the will be in touch if it came back positive. It made me feel tht she didn't trust me.
I called into my doctors on Tuesday and they said it was back positive and gave me the number for the commiunity midwife and said that a letter would be in the post about booking my scan.
I called my midwife who I hve to call back and make an appointment with a week on Monday so I will be nearly 8 weeks then. Also the letter came through from my doctors about the scan. I called up and the appointment time is in the post to me now and they said it will be at my 12 week mark.
I now at the beginning I was lost and didn't know what was happening. but I am so much more relaxed now that I know something is happening.
Hope everything works out well for you.
Bx

I went to docs at 5 weeks and he told me to book in with the midwife at the surgery after 8 weeks. I just went yesterday at 10 weeks.
