Odd shaped sac

Hi everyone
So I am 5 weeks two days pregnant today. I had a miscarriage last year and I was so thrilled I had conceived again, but today i met my new doctor and he gave me an early scan. The sac was very long and very thin looking. The doctor said it did not look good. I was devastated. He then sent me for blood work and he called and said the results were good. What is going on? Can stange shaped sacs turn into normal sacs? Are my quants a better indication? I am so sad. Any answers would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi and welcome to BnB. If the doctor says the results look good then I'd go by that and try not to worry too much if you can. I don't know a whole lot about sacs but I would imagine like everything else they come in all different shapes and sizes. I'm sorry I couldn't help more - maybe try posting your question in the First Tri Pregnancy forum where there might be more ppl experienced in this. Good luck with your pregnancy I hope it goes well

Thanks for the update! I was just coming in here to say your doctor has no idea what he is talking about. It's a 2D scan, so the sac isn't going to be perfect from every angle. I had a flat looking sac at 6 weeks and my dr. said it was just fine and that "the internetz has made you paranoid." He's funny and he's right and now everything is fine.

I'm glad you're doing so well! Only 10 weeks to go!
