so disappointed

we went for our second scan today and the ultrasound machine was broken, even the portable one! ob/gyn said we can either wait for them to fix it, hopefully in next couple of days or get an ultrasound elsewhere and show her. i am so disappointed for a few reasons, first i was so excited to see our chickpea (saw gestational sac at 5and5), i wanted reassurance all was ok and also i feel really comfortable with this doctor and am reluctant to have to go find another one. i am also worried i am losing faith in the hospital too, i mean what if i was in labour and a piece of equipment was needed and it was broken?! unbelievable for a hospital which is widely recommended as the best in this city
so i guess the waiting game is going to be a wee bit longer.

have anyone else had this or can offer words of wisdom??

i guess a positive (in the car to try and hold backthe tears oh and i did positive negative!)is that the longer we wait *hopefully* the more we will see on the scan!

well that sure is unexpected! and is it normal to only have one u/s machine in the whole hospital? i suppose if you want to be at the same hospital you will have to wait a few days for them to fix it. hopefully it will be sooner xx

That sucks! No fancy words of wisdom just that sucks, because truly it does. Good for you for looking at the pos. though and you are right the farther along you are the more there is to see. Glad to see your ob was understanding if you wanted to go elsewhere for a scan but honestly it could take as long to get in somewhere else as to have this one fixed, (esp. if they're thinking only a few days). How far along are you?

from lmp we are 7and5/8 or so, am hoping an u/s will give more detailed idea! boo!
luckily where we are we can get an u/s with a few hours wait max, there are a number of clinics and hospitals-its just daunting the idea of somewhere new and a new doc as i am am not a hospital fan (who is right?!)
it was so frustrating when she said the portable scanner was out of service altho somewhat of a relief when she said it was out of survice because it, and i quote now,was 'shooting out voltage'!!!
after having all day to nap and think/dream this over i think i do want to explore other hospitals its just i dont know where to go from here as this one was the expats no1 choice...bleh.
thanks for support ladies xxx

Well I am VERY glad they didn't try to probe your belly with something that was "shooting out voltage" so there is yet another positive.
