I wonder if she means she was just too early and the doctor was advising her that very early MC is common - so "keeping it" just meaning whether or not the pregnancy was viable, as some women will get BFP's before their period.

Unfortunately very early MC is quite common and doctors see it a LOT (the rate is like 1/4 but remember doctors generally see the worst of things) so I suspect this doctor was dismissing your pregnancy until it was later deemed to be more viable.

I just had my first appointment with my GP about an hour ago. He took basic details like the date of my last period, took my blood pressure, checked my breathing and examined my abdomen. He asked if I was taking folic acid, which I already am, and advised me on what not to eat, etc. He also said that he would send a referral to the midwife team and I should get an appointment with them in a couple of weeks. I'd expected to wait until 12 weeks-ish to get a scan and what not, but he said that in my area, early scans are more common so I would probably be seen very soon! Very reassuring. And, he told me to stop worrying and enjoy my pregnancy!

I was trying to figure out why the person at the dr office would talk to her as if she may not keep it. Didn't know if she was very young and the dr assumed she didn't want it. It should matter I was just trying to find any kind of logic.
