Low HCG at 14 dpo. Is there any hope?

Hi everyone
This is my first post and I wish it was on a happier note.
I found out I was pregnant yesterday and doc did a HCG blood test. It came back at 44.1 which is pregnant but it was low and at a level of someone only 3 weeks gone but I should have been 4 weeks yesterday.
I have to be retested tomorrow and I am so scared. I have had an ectopic in the past but I have no bleeding or symptoms.
Can anyone give me any hope to get through the next couple of days?
Wishing you all a healthy happy preg x

Thats within the normal range for 4wks

Here's a copy/paste table showing acceptable levels

Guideline to hCG levels during pregnancy:
hCG levels in weeks from LMP (gestational age)* :

3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml
9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml
13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml
17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml
25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml
Non-pregnant females: <5.0 mIU/ml
Postmenopausal females: <9.5 mIU/ml

I honestly am not sure. But I just wanted to tell you not to loose hope!! Maybe you ovulated later that you thought you did?? And don't forget implantation can take place up to 12 days past ovulation! Don't get your hopes up yet!!

Could you have ovulated later? Although having said that 44 is normal at 14dpo.

Thanks for your replies. Yes guess I could have ovulated later than I thought and my cycles vary between 28 and 32 days. The chart looks promising but the fertility nurse seemed to imply it wouldn't be a good outcome. Well I guess I have to cling onto the hope this will be ok and I am just earlier than I thought I was. Just wish I could fast forward 24 hours!!
Thanks again x

You're still in the "normal" range, all that matters is how fast it is doubling. Are you getting a repeat beta? You may have a low beta at first, but your beta could be doubling every day! There's always a chance you ovulated late or the baby implanted late as well. I honestly wouldn't worry about it until you get a repeat blood test. One single beta doesn't say much at all. Also keep in mind that lower hcg could mean boy xx

Do not lose hope! My hcg levels were low to start out. My levels were at 68.2 which the nurse said should have been around 100. I went in four days later and my levels were doubling every 28 hrs. I am now almost 15 weeks, which is six days farther along than what I was suppose to be. There is still hope! Really, it just matters if they keep doubling every 24 to (I believe) 72 hours.

I completely understand. I lost hope, hated the world for a good 3 days... I was actually TOLD it would not be viable because my number was too low at 10dpIUI @20. Got another at 14 dpIUI and it was @179. And I know I implanted early. IB @5dpIUI and a BFP @9dpIUI (only 2 days after my trigger shot had disappeared!!) You could have implanted at like 7-9 dpo or something like that. I think your number is great! Are they going to do another?
