Hi there I am in Australia and have Private Insurance Cover, so far I have had one when I was 4+2 to make sure there wasn't another Ectopic, then had one for my 6 wk scan, I go again on Fri the 20th for my 9 week, then I will be back again for my 12 wk scan.

I guess it is different from place to place and person to person. I had two failed pregnancies last year so my Dr is keeping a close eye on me.

Wishing you all the very best!

I had one at 8 weeks due to some spotting. The standard here is 12, 20, 32 weeks. 12-NT scan. 20-Anomaly scan. 32-Growth & Positioning.

I'm in the uk and as a rule of thumb you have the 12week and then 20week....

There may do more scans if you do the NT test and come back as a high risk, or you may get further scans later on if they think baby is growing too much or too little.

With my first son, he grew quite quick from my 12 to 20 week scan that I got further scans in my 3rd trimester .

I'm having a grand total of zero. Unless there is a medical reason for me to have one, I will not be having any scans. I didn't have any with my other pregnancies either.

I'm in the US and I'll have three. One next week for dating, one at 12 weeks and one around 20 weeks.

I've had three one at 5w5d because my dates were off so badly. Another at 7 weeks to confirm a heartbeat and one more at 10 weeks as I was cramping. In for another in a week and a half.... Busy busy!!

I thought there was a routine third tri one too (I'm in the US). Everyone seems to know how much their baby weighs and what percentile they are for size at about 32-36 weeks...wouldn't that require a scan? Not just a bump measurement?

Hmm seaweed you may be right. Isn't there another one to tell if baby is breech or not? I'll have to ask around.

The midwife can tell which way the baby is facing just by feeling your belly, no need for a scan there!
