Yep call the doctor on Monday, that's about all you can do at the moment! I went on Tues when I got my BFP and she told me because I hadn't missed a period yet it was too early to do anything so I've got to go back this Tuesday. I've also booked a private early scan for around 8 weeks, it's only £100 so we thought we may as well. So excited!

I'm in the UK, not sure where you are, but we don't get our first scan until around 12 weeks. We're moving house to the other end of the country though when I'll be around 9-10 weeks and can't register with my new doctor before so might end up waiting as I can only be put on the waiting list once I get there (if that makes sense). So we figured for £100 we'd have a private one before we go to put our minds at ease, there's a clinic about 10 minutes away so it's no hassle. Plus they say that if you hear a heartbeat at 8 weeks your chances of having a healthy baby are very, very high - we won't see much I don't think but if there is a heartbeat we'll hear it. If it's not good news I'd rather know so we can get our heads round it before we move. Will be very worth it I think!

xx At what stage do you start telling people? I am aware it's very early days as of yet. xx
It just depends on you- we decided to tell immediate family a close friends right away since I was so sick it would be difficult to hide. But also, we feel that even if we had a miscarriage right after, we would still want those people in the loop from the beginning- and we wanted to celebrate! Then, we told more family and a few more friends once we had our 8 week sonogram that showed a strong heartbeat and all looked good (at that point chance of miscarriage decreases considerably)- so, we'll tell everyone in a few more weeks.

But, it's all about who you want to know- I know plenty of people who tell people at the end of the first trimester, or don't tell anyone until 8 weeks or whatnot.

Congratulations! You can tell people whenever you like, but we decided to keep it a secret from our folks until now. Telling them tomorrow! xxx

Usually between 11 and 14 weeks. We had a scan at 8 weeks and baby was just a bean shape, but you will see in my avatar the difference 3 weeks makes!

Joanna, I'm in the UK. It's all new to me all these scans and things so I need to get clued up. I think I'd like the same, to hear the heartbeat and will kinda make it seem more real and more concrete that the baby is there to stay.

Daisy, I think I will wait for a few more weeks and perhaps leave it to 8 or maybe 12 weeks. I don't want to tempt fate. Are you in the Uk? If so how did you organise the sonogram? X

I booked mine here: http://www.ultrasound-direct.com/ I've seen other people mention it on this site and it seems reputable. They've got lots of locations and their website's really good - I wasn't really sure what I was after but if you click 'book' you put your dates in and they tell you what scans you're eligible for and at what dates! We're not going to tell anyone until we've had that scan - and then only parents and a couple of close friends. Everyone else will have to wait until 12 weeks!

That's who we've used for both of ours - they were absolutely fab on both occassions and I would wholeheartedly recommend them xxx
