Does anyone know the answer to these phil and teds sport questions?

Hi ladies, someone i know has just very kindly offered to let us have her Phil and teds Sport for free at the end of summer as someone has given her a different one that is less worn.

She said the only this is that it is slighlty worn and that it needs a new handle bar cover that i could get from ebay.

It wouldnt be my 1st choice at all, but as money is tight it is good to know that the option is there should worst come to worst.

I have found the p&t website a bit useless to be honest so i was wondering,

Are they good? What are the options for putting in a newborn and a small toddler (16 months he will be)

I really didnt want one because i refused to put a newborn in the lower section near the ground and didnt really want my older son stuck in the bottom where he cant see, but she said i can put my maxi cosi car seat on the top for my newborn, does anyone know if this is right, can i put the newborn baby on the top part, in the car seat whilst having it as a double with my son underneath?

She isnt getting rid of it until the end of summer when im due so if i was then to find out i could do that, i would be stuck!

Thanks x

I found the p&t fine for my boys(16 months apart too) and still use it if going out all day. Why don't you go to a place that sells them and ask them for a demonstration with the carseat. I know you can use the maxicosi carseat with, but I didn't as I couldn't get my previous icandy cherry adaptor off! Hope that helps!

Thanks, yea thats probably the best thing for us to do. Its a shame i dont know just what the condition is like, but i feel rude asking her since she is offering it for free, yet at the same time im going to have to wait until i am due to see it! Would you think it was a bit rude, honestly? x

Hi hun, hope this helps...

I had my girls 21 months apart and bought a Phil n Ted E3 second hand and i must say i loved it!!!

What the pushchair did (and i am presuming the sport also) is that the main seat could be adjusted to a horizontal position...so that you could lay a newborn flat (facing you as you pushed) and then an 'attatcment' fit firmly on the top of where the main seat should be...which provided a forward facing upright position for little toddler!

Then, when little one was old enough to sit upright... you could put them forward facing and upright into the normal main seat, and the 'attacment' transfered to another position at the back of the pushchair...where little toddler could also forward face!

(Granted, if looking straight ahead my toddler saw only the back of the main seat, however, by the time my little one was in the main, my toddler would more often than not have a little walk anyway!)

xx

If I offered my friend my pram for free and she wanted to see it or ask the condition I wouldn't think it rude at all.

I just feel very cheeky because she is more an aquaintance than a friend, so its very kind of her to offer in the 1st place, but you know what its like, even if something free, its no good if its past it or not right for you. Iv got a while yet, anyway, only 17 weeks. Its just frustrating because i like to be very organised and already have a single pushchair that i LOVE! x

Can you "trick" her into sending you some photos or for you to have a look at it? She said the handle bar is worn, perhaps say you want to start looking for a replacement but need to see what you are looking for? Or to look at the adaptors at the shop, or to make sure your looking at the right pram as there are different p&ts... I like to be organised too so I know how hard it can be waiting for something you might not want and then having to go get something else entirely! My sil got a p&t from eBay after liking mine so if money is tight, you still might be able to find a good double. But try and get photos or make a visit to check it out if you can, you'd be doing her a favour it seems takin it off her hands when someone is giving her one. Good luck!

Well iv now seen a picture and from i can see it doesnt look bad, i mean i dont know how old the picture is but it looks ok and is black wich always wears well doesnt it.

But she would now like £50 for it, so it will be £50 plus the handle bar, plus the car seat adaptors, wich i know wont be a fortune, but im not sure i want to part with the money when it wasnt the sort i really wanted anyway do you know what i mean? x
