Miscarried 5 weeks ago & now i'm 4 weeks pregnant

So 5 weeks ago tomorrow i had a miscarriage at 6wks. It was the saddest thing we have ever been through, but we decided to try again right away. With ovulation testing and basal body temp tracking we suceeded! My husband does not know yet (we will test "Together" tomorrow), but I tested on my own and got a positive a couple of days ago. I just couldn't wait!! I jumped up and down and cried! YAY! Then reality set in and the realization/fear that the same thing that happened last time might happen again. I felt the implantation cramping, but just like last time....it hasn't stopped! It's not bad. Just mild semi frequent cramping, but it feels the same as last time. Everyone has told me mild cramping is normal and to be expected and nothing to worry about unless there is bleeding also, but...I can't help it. I'm trying to keep myself calm and stress free, but it's all i can think about. Has anyone had this type of cramping and had everything turn out fine? I don't know what to think.....

Congrats on your bump!

I had cramping around 4-5 weeks and it was quite bad, it woke me up at night and lasted around 15 minutes per cramping session where I just had to breathe through it!

Try not to panic too much, I know it will be difficult after your loss but that does not mean that it will happen again and stress won't do baby any good. Relax and pop your feet up and before you know it 12 weeks will be here.

Wishing you a h+h 9 months

Xx

Dunno if it helps but I cramped from what must've been 3 weeks right up to 8. I'm 14 now and still get the odd cramp. Not had any problems so far but the cramping used to throw me into a panic. My midwife says its totally normal. Congratulations on your good news try to relax and take one day a time x

Thank you guys! I am trying so hard not to stress. We're only going to tell a few select people this time, because telling everyone about the miscarriage last time just about tore my heart out. If everything goes well we will tell everyone at 12wks. I called my doc and she said she'll see me at 7 weeks, but no earlier unless there are other issues. Sigh...3 weeks is a long time to wait. I guess i just try to take care of myself and pray.

Hi there,

CONGRATS on your pregnancy xxxx

I have a similar story to yours... MC 13th March after having ICSI and then found out I was preggers on Tuesday. It is a really worry after what we have been through.... but there is NO reason why this pregnancy wont work. So try and keep positive

Congrats for your pregnancy!! I had a miscarriage in jan and than I became pregnant in march. In one of these other blogs I read that your chance for miscarriage is down if you become pregnant within 4 months of your mc. I'm now 9w1d had my first scan last week, everything looks great strong heart beat. I did have some cramping ( I think it was gas pains woke me up at night in pain). I was so worried the doctors didy hcg level before I was 5 weeks. Maybe they can see you? Good luck with you a h &h 9 months

hello! i conceived straight after a miscarriage at 6 weeks, i had some cramps which a week later were followed by dark brown discharge, i was adamant i had lost baby again, and it turned into bright red blood for about 10 minutes, but stopped, i had brown discharge from about week 5/6 to week 9/10 i had two early scans and just had my first normal one, which showed baby fine and wriggling around im 13 weeks hope this rests your mind a little! xxx

Huge congratulations hun and I'm so sorry for your loss

I conceived first cycle after a MC too, ans just got back from A&E because of cramping, they said everything seems fine and as I am still getting positive tests thats brilliant, I should have my HCG results by morning and depending on the levels I will either have more bloods or an early scan. The doctor said even if you conceive straight after a MC there is NO reason for it to happen again and to just think positive.
