Tinytabby, usually 2-3 days. I've looked in to it but for me it seems like a bit of a faff as the benefits are no greater than delayed cord clamping which I intend to to anyway. Culturally speaking, it might mean more to others. Also if you plan on doing anything with your placenta, you can't with a lotus birth as it essentially decomposes.

It's my second but I had a fairly straight forward delivery first time around so I'm hoping this gonna be nice and easy.

Any yay for healthy bubs at scan lollypops

the placenta is great to plant after a lotus birth still can cause any plant life a good start and growth aid, it is personal choice and unsure the hospital will even allow it there are alot of benefits to lotus birth but it depends on how you feel about it, we're studying it just now and will be doing delayed clamping if nothing else....

this wish was not carried out with my son which upset me

If you want to have a lotus birth, even When having a ceaserian, you can absolutley have it. It's not for me but I'm 100% behind birth choices for women and if it's important to you, demand it.

Here's a pretty amazing lotus birth csection story if you're interested http://spirited-mama.com/2012/02/11/opening-eyes/

Oh and I mean you can't eat it, encapsulate it, make a smoothie etc if you have a lotus birth, you could still plant it and make prints etc.

Good news about the scan, lollypops!

Hmm, I think I'll look into the whole placenta thing. Not sure that the lotus birth is for me!

There's a lot to think about, isn't there?

thanks been looking at all the sites i can, althought they can no refuse they can fight not to do it if they don't want to or if the doctor doesn't feel comfortable etc, i understand why people do it and why they don't and after reading so much i feel bad just discarding the placenta as if its nothing because its kept my baby alive and been my baby's company for so long and came from the same cells as my baby so hard to just think of it as waste. i personally couldn't eat it or that but don't judge anyone else who does i am just weaked stomached when it comes to food lol
