At my 28 week appointment i had blood pressure and urine checked, i had my bump measured and got the position of the baby checked. She was head down, yay. Also heard her heartbeat. I got blood taken, think its standard for 28 weeks...they do a full blood count, think its to check iron and glucose levels etc x

I asked what there'd be at my 28 week appointment when I was in at 22 weeks, and it's basic bloods (counts, possibly a liver function check), urine dip, blood pressure, fundal height, and a heartbeat listen. Possibly a weigh-in, but I haven't been weighed by a midwife since my booking at 8 weeks. My 28 week appointment is on Friday this week, quite looking forward to it. The appointments start getting more frequent now for pregnant women in my region. I'm in Lothians, and we go 28, 32, 36, 38, 40, 41 with sweeps offered at 40 and 41, and induction booking offered at 41 for 42.

But the real excitement for me and OH this week is my private 3D/4D scan Wednesday evening! Really really hoping we don't accidentally find out the gender, I've grown so attached to being team !! But I love the 3D photos that others have posted, and since I cancelled my NCT classes (they were being annoying and kept re-scheduling), I had the money for a private scan. SO exciting!!!

Bumpycat - apparently the NHS dont routinely weigh ladies throughout their pregnancy now, they only check at 8 weeks. Somethin to do with it not bein an accurate way to determine growth of the baby, it was just causing the women extra stress over their gain hehe. If they fear baby isnt growing well they tend to just scan now. I'm in lanarkshire and have my next appointment at 32 weeks, then every fortnight after that. Wonder if seeing the MW more regularly will make time go even faster x

Oh...edited to add....cant wait to see ur scan pics xx

Thanks Stacey, I didn't know that. I haven't actually weighed myself since 20-something weeks, but I'm still in pre-pregnancy jeans (with band), and almost everything else still fits more or less ok, so I don't expect to have any serious problems losing the weight afterwards.

Yeah i can still fit into pretty much all of my pre-preg clothes. Not really gained weight anywhere other than my bump (so far) hehe, so fingers crossed that losing it later shouldnt be too bad. Went out and bought a few nice maternity t-shirts today though. I figured since we are in spring and my work is getting warmer now I'd better invest in some new tshirts hehe. Got them in H&M, they are really nice and comfy. Looked in new look but couldnt see much i liked today x

heres the weird thing...you ladies are saying about not gained much weight and being in your pre pregnancy jeans... I Lost 11lbs and gained 8lbs back of that so im still less than what i weighed before pregnancy. even when i was 11lbs down and gained none of that back i was in size 18 maternity clothes and normally im a uk size 16 how does that work out? lol

dont mind having bigger bump but bit confusing lol x
