Pregnant with graves deseases.

Hello all,
I normally don't post, but since I don't know anyone who can relate to my situation, I've came on board and decided to share my story.
I'm 36 years old very well healthy.
Past couple months I've been trying to conceive. But I had no luck.
Mind u I have 5 kids with my youngest turning a year old.
Since march I've been feeling kinda odd.
Shortness of breath, heart palpitations, shaking and tired.
I thought it was the amount of coffee I was consuming daily.
So over the course of months passing I've gotten worse.
Decided to go for an annual check up.
Come to find out last month that I have grave disease.
The one that produces to much hormones.
So I'm put on medication and told I was not able to get pregnant due to my menstrual cycle being off.
Well that was not true because now I'm 4 weeks pregnant.
I'm scared and worried.
Has anyone been through this.???
I'm on PTU 50mg 3x a day.
I feel fine overall.
Just mild cramps and diaheara and, nauseous

You should go see your endocrinologist as soon as possible because they will need to manage you and your medication differently. If you were diagnosed by a general practitioner, get an endocrinologist now. You want to be handled by a thyroid expert, believe me. My endocrinologist always told me that he should be the second person I tell about my pregnancy.

I have Graves’ but I had the radioactive iodine treatment so I’m now clinically hypothyroid.

I agree. You need to speak to your endocrinologist and work closely with him/her throughout your pregnancy. I have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis (hypothyroidism) and my levels are checked every 3/4 weeks. Good luck!
