I posted the other day about finding a lump under my armpit, I saw my doctor who thought it was possibly a sabaceous cyst. The lump is still there but isn't hurting anymore and I'm getting worried that it is something nasty. When people talk about having cysts they mention pain, swelling and being able to see the lumps under the skin. I can only feel the lump, no see it etc.
I am quite scared now, has anyone got any experience of lumps under their arms whilst being pregnant. I'm not very rational today...
I knew a girl who had this and it turned out to be her milk ducts...her's got really big too...you should have your doctor check it out. Once her baby was born and she started to breastfeed it went away.
I posted the other day - I have a lump under my right armpit .
I had it last time when pregnant and it went away on its own. This was in 2005.
Seeing your post reminded me that I'd had one in about August / September I 2011 , and I remembered thinking to myself I must keep an eye on it to see if it goes down , and you know what I completely forgot it was there till I saw your post . It is still there , and Im now 16 weeks pregnant.
Went to the docs yday he said it was either a cyst or lipoma , its not breast tissue , and feels like its under my skin . He told me to come back in 6-8 weeks.
My mum , gran and aunt died of cancer so as you can guess I'm sh*tting myself . Im going back on Thursday for a second opinion .
My mum was misdiagnosed several times .
I dont want to panic you , but I think you should get a second opinion too . Life is so short and precious . I dont want to be worrying over something that could be nothing .
It's pretty late now , but I'll take a pic of mine and post it on here tomorrow - to show you .
Im so glad you posted this up - otherwise I'd have completely forgotten the lump was there x
Sorry I havent been much help myself - Im not feeling very rational myself either
i would really get it checked out. my mom wasn't pregnant at the time, but she felt a lump under armpit, turned out to be breast cancer, so they did surgery and removed 8 of the 12 cancerous, then they believed it wasn't breast cancer and that it was really melanoma, which to this day they still don't know which cancer it was. my mom is alive and well, this happened 3 years ago. her case baffled all the doctors and specialists, even with her labs and xrays and scans being sent to specialists in other states.
not to scare you, but it could be anything, good luck!
Hi! I had this for the first time in my last pregnancy. Scared the crap out of me! But it was just because of pregnancy hormones and milk glands. If you google lump in armpit you get some scary stuff! stay away from Dr. Google!
