Whenever I try to go to sleep I get a very loud and annoying swooshing sound in my right ear. I heard that this can happen during pregnancy because the increase in blood volume causes vessels by your ear to get engorged, but there has to be a solution! It keeps me up at night and makes it incredibly difficult to fall asleep. Has anybody experienced this and have you found any solutions??
A loud pulse is heart palpitations, I get them sometimes. But mostly when I drink coffee after lunch or more than one a day :/ (kind of ruined my coffee drinking...) Been getting a few lately though. They are supposed to be harmless, but I think we are meant to tell our doctor about them. Guess they could be symptoms of something else too.
I get that when I start to get an ear infection. I guess because my immunity is low I seem to get sick all the time. I take grapefruit seed extract (NuriBiotic) in juice and put a few drops in some oil (grape seed or olive) and put in my ear. It works but comes back a couple weeks later along with the start of a sore throat. Because of the grapefruit seed extract I don't actually get a full on infection.
I sometimes get crackling in my ear, I asked about it when at docs about something else and she checked my ears saying there wasnt much wax and my ear drums looked fine so must just be one of those odd pregnancy things.
Glad to see I'm not alone! I think I will try your recommendations Care76 just in case its the beginning of an ear infection. I've never had an ear infection though, so I don't know if that is what it is. I'm pretty sure its just an increase in blood volume which is making this happen since when it does happen my pulse is extremely strong on my neck below my ear. I'll definitely bring it up at my next prenatal. Thanks ladies!
I get the swooshing/heartbeat sound when I am not pregnant.... I asked my doctor about it before, and he said it doesn't cause any concern with him... I hope he is a good doc, because it scares me.... I automatically think the worst.
I've been getting heart palpitations for a few days now and it was so crazy yesterday morning that I called my OB office. I felt like my head was thumping with every heart beat. They advised me to go to the ER to get checked out just in case since it was lasting for a while. Well, big waste of time lol. They did an EKG at triage then hooked me up to monitors for my bp and heart rate and took blood. I was there for 4 hours, my hip was killing me laying in the ER bed hooked up to all these monitors just to be told I was fine and it was just pregnancy related and nothing dangerous to me or baby. Now, I don't blame the ER for taking it seriously or anything, but why my OB office didn't just have me come there to check my blood pressure first (which honestly, that was my only concern, if it was normal I wouldn't have gone to ER at all).
Anyway, that's probably what's happening to you and I can tell you from experience lol, it's normal.
