How odd even the MW hadnt heard of it before!

I had such a horrendous night. I couldnt turn my head at all when lying down without feeling I was going to pass out. I am such a fidget when i sleep turning from side to side but last night i couldnt even turn my head a quarter turn without the horrible fainting feeling. It carried on until this morning, when my OH finally woke up i burst out crying! I tried to sit up but promptly laid back down again, OH took my pulse and it was very high. Took about half hour for me to finally sit up. I still feel odd now, head feels heavy and i feel a bit shakey.
I rung the MW who thinks its very low blood pressure and wants me to go to my gp (as they are closer than the mw) but i cant get there until my OH finishes work and the way I am feeling I do not want to risk the bus!
Has anyone had this before? Did you have it alot? Is there anything i can do for it?
x

I had this sometimes in my last pregnancy - mine was caused by low BP and migraine. DRINK FLUIDS!! BP can drop when the body tries to make more blood but the fluid intake isn't high enough to help it. Your body has 40% more blood at the end of pregnancy than before.

Good luck hun, I hope you're feeling better soon x

Oh scally, poor you I have no idea what it could be, could be ear related possibly? Really hope you feel better soon, would have thought your midwife could have done a home visit though to check you over. Big hugs to you xx

Hope you feel better soon! Is there any way you can take a cab to your GP's surgery?

It may be low BP but sounds more like possibly a middle ear infection or laberynthitis these cause giddyness and fainting feelings.
Can you ask a friend or neighbour to take you. People are often very happy to help out in these dort of situations.

Thank you for your support ladies.
I had a friend take me to the doctors. I have BPPV, a form of vertigo. The doctor hopes it will pass within 48 hours if not I have to go back. There are tablets she can give me to help but they havent been tested on pregnant women so we both decided to see how it goes.
She did my blood pressure, it was something over 70 sat up but when she led me down it went to something over 54, so definitely alot lower. I am not allowed to drive, I am not allowed to look after children (did say i have an almost 3 year old and she said i wasnt allowed to lift her, bend over etc etc, have to be very careful when i havent got help around) and I have to try and sleep sitting up!
Luckily it doesnt affect the baby so thats good.

I'm not sure but you done the right thing in contacting your midwife, i hope all goes well for you at your doctors.

I've been getting a heavy feeling in my head and headaches recently, think i will be mentioning it to my midwife next time. xx

A lady I worked with had the exact same thing - a type if vertigo, hers unfortunately didn't go away quickly and she was given exercises to do to help alleviate it. However, some of these exercises included walking up and down stairs with her eyes shut - clearly a dangerous idea for pregnant ladies! So proceed with caution- hers did get better and did seem to be linked to an iron deficiency xxx
