How is baby causing frequent urination AND heartburn? Is he standing up? lol!

What are you doing in there, baby? I have probably peed 12 times today and I get heartburn at odd times for no consistant reason. Can be food or no food, drink, no drink. The food can be anything, and can cause no problem one hour and an issue the next. Ahh!

I'm having the same thing. It's awful! I pee at least every hour and there's never any rhyme or reason to the heartburn so I guess theres no way to avoid it. I just keep a big bottle of tums in my purse!

I'm almost out of Tums.. I am going to need to grab some of those. I wish they sold them in just one color. I hate the pink ones. Can't they all be orange or yellow?

The same thing happens to me, but my baby is super low and curled up (had a scan few days ago).. I believe the heartburn is from my digestive system being slowed down, and all my organs being pushed up. That's usually what causes heartburn in pregnancy. He could be all over the place though lol!!

i've had such bad heartburn it's evolved into acid reflux as well..which means either i'm awake all night with heartburn and trying to find ways to sleep to get the heartburn to go down, or eating tons of crackers and whatnot...or I wake up in the middle of the night or in mid sleep coughing and choking up acidy vommit yep good times

anyways, sometimes as an attempt to prevent heartburn from even starting, since I get it without fail every night, I take a zantac, it takes a while to kick in, so i normally take it a half hour before I go to sleep, i'd say 75% of the time, it prevents the heartburn from happening ...might be a good idea fo you as well!! Zantac is perfectly safe and approved at least by my doctor.

However, it's starting to get worse, and even zantac is hardly helping...so there may come a point and time where nothing helps...also be wary of taking too many tums, I heard it has the potential to be bad.

also I found this:
which explains why we get heartburn for no reason
http://www.babycenter.com/0_heartbur...egnancy_242.bc

"During pregnancy, the placenta produces the hormone progesterone, which relaxes the smooth muscles of the uterus. This hormone also relaxes the valve that separates the esophagus from the stomach, allowing gastric acids to seep back up, which causes that unpleasant burning sensation.

Progesterone also slows down the wavelike contractions of your esophagus and intestines, making digestion sluggish. Later in pregnancy, your growing baby crowds your abdominal cavity, pushing the stomach acids back up into the esophagus.

Many women start experiencing heartburn and other gastrointestinal discomforts in the second half of pregnancy. Unfortunately, it usually comes and goes until your baby is born"

nightwings.. Try Prilosec!! I took Zantac and it did help, but didn't take it away. Prilosec is a 14 day treatment that is supposed to get rid of acid reflux/heartburn for 5 months! I took both zantac and prilosec when I started the prilosec, and after a few days I really noticed a difference. I stopped the treatment around 10 days. It's SO much better. All I need is a tums here and there, just depends on what I eat. I really recommend you try it if Zantac is no longer working

Raising the head of your bed (bricks under the legs) can help with heartburn in the night. Also I swear by Gaviscon Advance- rather than reducing the acid it forms a coating that stops it coming back up, so if you suffer from acid reflux not just heartburn it stops that too. It can be taken with other treatments as a 'top up' if needed.

Though am I the only woman in the world who has less acid reflux now she's pregnant?
