Gush of fluid - urine/amniotic fluid/something else?
Last night I bent down to take something out of the dryer and I had a gush of clear watery fluid which ran down my leg when I stood up. It went right through my knickers. I have never had a problem with incontinence (apart from a couple of times when I vomited with morning sickness) and it was much more than discharge and much more watery/urine-like. I didn't sneeze or cough, just simply bent down. There was nothing more after the initial gush.
Has anyone else had a similar experience and did you ever discover what it was?
Ive never had anything quite like that happen. Ive had a few incidences where I had a small gush, but its usually the day or a day after ive DTD with hubby. I had it happen today actually (not because of DTD). I had to run all the way across the football field to make sure he wasnt late for pictures, and I felt a small gush and my panties had of been wet, but I had taken a bath earlier, so I think it was from that
Did it have a smell to it. I know amniotic fluid has a sweet smell. If anything, id call your OB/MW and ask. They may have you go in and they can do a quick test to see if your leaking amniotic fluid (its kinda like a swab and it turns a certain color if theres any amniotic fluid). may also do an U/S to make sure too.
hm. Have you taken a bath lately? Have you DTD in the past day or so? I know sometimes ive had it happen after that mixed with discharge and it seemed really watery and if I didnt have tighter clothes on it seemed to go down to my knee.
Please call your midwife or maternity ward. I didn't think amniotic fluid did smell but there are so many things I now can't remember from my previous pregnancy but the fact that it gushed and ran down your leg I would deffo get chanced hun. Let me know how you get on xxx
i was going to mention the bath thing! I leaked my waters with my son but only the week before i was due when i got up in the morning. When your waters go they dont stop and keep coming in gushes, i would ring and ask the question hun. let us know how you get on xx
