We're in the process of signing up for NCT antenatal classes, and the price they quote includes NCT membership. If you don't want to join for a year then you just subtract the £30 from the total. The classes are already £249 so £279 including membership is a lot of money, so I was wondering... does anyone know if it's actually worth joining the NCT, does anyone have any experience of being a member?
I joined with membership
Haven't seen the benefits yet!
You get a magazine and also access to their second hand sales I've just heard, so might actually be worth it if you can save lots of money.
Not sure what else you get - perhaps more once you start classes?
So far it seems a lot of money to me, but I haven't gone out of my way to utilise the membership - any info from someone who has used it would be fab!
Hello, I put my name down for them but didn't pay any money and they sent me the magazine, brochure and the date of the next Nearly new sale, which I would like to go to. My friend recommended the NCT to me but at over £200 I really don't think that I can afford them. It was for 3 classes instead of 4 like the NHS ones. I think that I will stick with the NHS ones as in my area they are supposed to be quite small.
Another friend is on the committee of my local branch and she highly recomends being a member so I might do that instead of the classes.
i've just signed up...as far as i now the membership gives u early access to the nearly new sales (before non memebers r allowed in) and they also run mum and baby groups and other social events. not sure if the membership is needed for these or not. i haven't used mine yet but my thinking was it helps the nct stay running. i prob wouldn't sign up for any more years after this one
