Dont know what to do..work causing me so much stress!

Hi, I have posted here before about my work place. I work 2 p/t jobs, the evening one is a small cleaning job 4 hrs per night, mon-fri. They are all foreign and speak very limited english, and I mean Very little inc my supervisor. I went to my drs 3/4 weeks ago to say i needed him to put me on reduced duties due to the deep cleaning over the summer was causing me groin pain. They changed my duties but not without making feel S#*t in the process.

Last week on Fri after a really hot week, come near the end of my shift (30 mins before it was due to end) I asked if I could go as I was feeling dizzy and sick. My supervisor said "NO", I knew he hadn't understood me. I tried to explain again but he didnt understand. So I told him I was going home, he said wait I will ring area manager (who speaks english) he couldnt get her so had to get a normal member of staff who speaks limited English. I explained to her and she relayed msg and he said ok go. The whole process took 25 mins to sort and I dont feel I should have to tell a normal member of staff, my health problems shouldnt it be kept confidential??
All weekend I have not slept due to the thought of going back there, I just dont understand them! Do you think my Dr will sign me off for a while or am I being silly? My husband is mad as he said what happens if something serious happens to you they could speak to the emergency services to tell them whats wrong.
Grrrrr roll on Mat leave xx

Ano how you feel Hun. I work in a mental health unit (which is physically and mentally hard work) and ever since I told them I'm pregnant they've been horrible to me and speaking to me like dirt and basically told me if I dnt like it hand me notice in. One of the bosses has be in tears every time he speaks to me cause he's so horrible and I'm so stressed but I daren't do anything wrong cause they want me gone and I need money. Ano it's not exactly same As your situation but I know how stressed you must feel. All the best to you anyway

I would speak to your doctor and ask if they will sign you off, this sounds crappy hun, it's not worth taking risks if there is another option for you. Hope you get it sorted.xx

Sounds like a major lack of communication skills! If you did go back I would of spoke to the area manager about the lack of communication between you and your supervisor as they need to attend to everyone's needs, whether that be understanding English or going home sick.

Glad you've been signed off now so you don't have to go back! Work just isn't worth the effects of stress caused to you and your baby's health enjoy maternity leave! xxx

Sounds like you've had to put up with a lot then, considering they're buddies outside of work :/

Ah well, put your feet up and chill out

My work is causing problems too. They took away our only chair in there and then said we can't have anything to drink. Yeah.. I can't stand for 8 hours and not drink water dumbasses. They seem to think that we can still do everything normally. Maybe others can but I can't. My work won't even accept doctors notes. I am just thinking of quitting. Good luck with your job.

This sounds illegal! I've never had a job where I'm not allowed to drink water.
