From what i could find: Basically this MD noticed that if the baby's placenta was on the right side, it was 97% a male. If it was on the left, it was 97.5% a girl. All these ultrasound's were done at 6 weeks. The MD said this theory doesnt hold true if it is done later in the pregnancy as the placenta can move.
If I knew how to read a scan I'd try help lol but I've no idea what the placenta looks like!
I had a scan at 8 weeks and my placenta was on the right side. But we found out at our 20 week ultrasound that we're having a girl.
Kellen, was the placenta on the right side as you were looking at the ultrasound? If that was the case, it was really on the left as abdominal US are mirrored images of what's really going on. Just curious.
You see how, on your pics, on the right side there is a white area that is all squiggly? I believe that is the placenta. It would mean, if that is it, that the placenta is on the left, thus girl. have you had a gender scan yet?
Ok, that's what I thought. Thank you.
I went in for my an anatomy scan at 20 weeks, but they didn't tell me the gender. The ultasound tech didn't say a word while doing the scan and when My husband or I would ask a question, she wouldnt acknowledge us. She looked as if she was having a bad day. So DH and I just stayed quiet the whole time. Than she left to get a go ahead if we could leave from the radiologist and he came in the room and told us that one of the kidney's was dialated and that he needed to look at it again. He was explaining things to and of course had us all worried and I forgot to even ask the gender cause I was so concerned about its kidney :/
DH now wants to keep it a surprise until birth, but I'm dying to know! But I'll wait for him
What a lovely wife you are. Actually, in the beginning, OH was wanting to not find out and I couldn't find out and keep it a secret from him, so I was okay with it. One day, he said he wanted to find out so we could start buying boy/girl stuff. Whatever, I'm okay with either.
It'd be interesting to see if you have a girl. Keep up posted!
Yes fingers crossed for a girl. This is our second child. Our son is 2. I'm have a "feeling" it's a girl but "think" it's a boy- if that makes any sense... So who knows lol.
Is this your first child? Do you know if your pink or blue?
