OH just made redundant - scared stress will harm baby?
Hi Ladies, what a day, my OH has just been made redundant with immediate effect and I feel so so so so stressed and ill and shaky and worried. I am so scared that these feelings will harm the baby and cause pre term labour or something horrible like that, does anyone know how stress effects the baby and pregnancy as I have pains and cramps now possibly from the stress, I am stuck at work and cant even go home and be with my man in this time of need so am also cross and upset! Sorry for the downer just feel like it is one thing on top of the other xxxx
I am so so sorry for your stress at this time. I can totally relate as OH is being reduced to half hours at the end of the month and is going to contest it - we just know he'll be made redundant but to be honest looking at the benefits etc we'd be entitled to I'm starting to worry less and less.
Are you renting your house or do you have a mortgage?
The best thing to do is phone the CAB and ask then what you are entitled to now and what you can claim and get all the paperwork sent to you ASAP so you don't wait too long for it to start filtering through.
Please don't stress out as most credit card/mortgage/insurance companies will sympathise and give payment holidays etc until you are back on your feet and prefer to be kept in the loop
My OH was made redundant just before we found out I was pregnant so I totally know how u are feeling. He just got offered a full time job last week so we are slowly getting back on our feet. He has done agency work for the last 3 months to get us by.
Like Puppycat said find out what u are entitiled to, and stay positive....Things will always work out
Worry never solves anything....you need a clear head so take a deep breath. Yes right now it's a shock but things will look different in the morning. Get your OH to worry about it for you....he can call CAB etc and find out what he needs to know/do.
Big to you and your OH,....you will be fine, try not to get too worked up and if you need to vent, you know where we all are.
