Alexandra hospital redditch uk?

I am currently booked in with Birmingham womens hospital, Which I dont want to be at, as I had a terrible experience there with my first baby.

I was wondering if anyone here has been to the Alex? And what their experience was like please?

I don't have any experience with that hospital, have you tried a Google - it was helpful to me when looking at hospitals for me as there are often reports etc.

I just wanted to say that I think you can get good and bad experiences at any hospital and I think you should move hospitals anyway - it wouldn't be nice to worry that the same will happen again

Absolutely amazing! I had my daughter there in 2008. The staff are so fun friendly and caring! The aftercare was great (I had eclampsia and nearly died and they really looked after me..the midwives who delivered my daughter even came to visit me on the ward!)
I have been having complications with this pregnancy...I was there last night actually with some complications and the midwives were amazing. Their care is brilliant. I am supposed to go to Worcester Hospital but I have had far too many problems there on different units with family members and friends throughout the years that I can't bare the place. Redditch all the way for me and the rest of my family for anything else too!
I have friends who had their babies there too and they can't fault the place. Xx

Iv heard lots of positive reviews on this hospital. I get scared of changing though, I don't quite know why.

what if they try and make me give birth naturally? There is no way I can, iv had 2 c sections, and my pelvic canal is not wide enough or baby to pass through, but what i they don't believe me?

They would have all of your previous notes from your last two pregnancies and Labour's passed on to then. You can request a hospital visit and discuss all of this with them. Explain that you need a c section. Do a birth plan stating this! xx

I had my little girl there last year and as I hadn't heard too many glowing reports I was a little concerned. I was high risk, and labour quickly so was no other option, was closest hospital. But the consultant care was fantastic. I've now had 5 babies I'm 5 different hospitals most recent being only 4 weeks ago. But I can honestly say the best experience I have had is with the Alex, for me this is specifically because they listened, before and during labour and birth, all my concerns and worries were heard, I had a few due to previous bad experience. And labour and birth were pleasurable experiences, could have been a different story if they hadn't listened every step of the way! I have just had another awful experience, and regret the Alex being too far to travel too for me now, but I have said if I ever have any more I will go stay with family and will have my baby at the Alex! I recommend it, they are fantastic
