I've no experience with this but they must think that the benefits outweigh any potential risks associated with the MRI or they wouldn't do it right? I can't imagine magnetism being in any way harmful to your LO anyway.

Good luck, we'll all be rooting for ya girly

Oh hun the scan has been scheduled for both of your safety...if the risks were huge you would have been told already, as with any activity there are risks and they have to make you aware of them....just like all medication has to list every side effect no matter how rare.

Think of all the baby books you have read...lots of them have MRI scans of the baby in the womb so it cant be all that bad!

Talk to a consultant who can let you know exactly why you need the MRi and what the risks are and how they weight up against the risks of you not havng the scan.

thanks babes, but i am so torn!
Kind of dont want to know if the tumor has grown and want to put my head in the sand?
Am hopeing they only need to do the visual fields test today which is in an hour!

If they could just give me something for the headaches i could cope with it?

Going on my own as hubby is on a massive case in court today and its been a case he has been working on for over a year! You know when you feel like you will get half way and turn back cos you just dont want to know?

I can understand totally how you feel. I'd strongly suggest giving your consultant a call and talking it over with them, they are in the very best position to tell you all the things you need to consider before making a decision one way or the other

I was booked for one a couple of months ago as I had a mini stroke (hemiplegic migraine) and yet when I rang them up to tell them I was pregnant as they advised to do on the letter sent to me she told me they wouldn't do it. I think they only do MRI scans on pregnant women if it's really urgent and as far as I know, it won't do baby any harm it's just that they still don't yet know the long term effects it could have. I know how you feel though, I was going to refuse it anyway...I would rather have suffered and protected my baby than risked anything which is a bit silly as you need to be healthy for baby too but you know how it is! Hope you're ok xx

Hey my lovely bird.
I dunno i just feel really scared this morning i dunno why as i never get scared i just hate mris as i get really clostrophobic? You have to stay still! They put a cage round your face and you have to keep your head still but for some reason it makes me have involuntary twitches lol. Still not had the call for the MRI so hoping they have forgotten about me!
xxxx
