Any tips for getting baby active for scan???

Morning ladies,

I have my congentinal scan later this morning and wondered if you had any tips on waking baby up and getting them active Not too sure on the morality of this but just want to make sure that the sonagrapher is able to get all the views that they need and that baby isnt curled in a ball sleeping

I think i remember someone talking about drink orange juice? Was this fizzy like Fanta or fresh OJ? If anyone has any advice or has something that works for them please let us know

Caffeine and sweets Hun. Even when I have been for a scan and she wasn't active they sent me out to the waiting room to have some coffee and sweets.

Good luck

Rather than unhealthy caffeine and sugar, fruit juice is a much better choice. Orange juice seems to have a better effect than most.

I had orange juice with my breakfast about 90 minutes before, and was drinking a bottle of water out of the fridge on the way there and that seemed to make baby just the right amount of active. He was wriggling about enough that she could get the measurements etc but not so much that it made him a pain in the bum for her!
The one thing I would say is that I couldn't feel any of the wriggles I could see him making on the screen, so don't assume cos you can't feel it baby's not moving in there.

Hope your scan goes well x
