Can I play acoustic guitar while pregnant?

Does anyone know the answer to this? My brother suggested that perhaps I shouldnt play in case the vibrations upset the baby and I told him not to be ridiculous. But now I think of it, it would sound very loud and would vibrate a lot. I have tried googling this but no joy. Any ideas?

I'm pretty confident that an acoustic guitar will do absolutely no harm at all!!!

I've been to gigs when pregnant (off to one about 3 weeks before I'm due ) and thats alot louder and both mine are perfectly ok!

Influnce them with good music while they're still in the womb I say

lol - Play away. I bet the baby will love the vibrations. People spend money on those classical music for the baby gadgets you put on your bump. I'd bet your baby would prefer your music.

What??? Don't be silly!! My yoga teacher makes us do heaps of chanting during our sessions and one of the reasons is that bubs LOVES the vibrations and the calming sound!
Play away!!

I should think the baby would like it. I don't think it would do anything to harm the baby - it's not like you're putting a stereo on at full blast next to your belly.

Play it play it! Honest, baby will love it and it may even work as a calming tactic when babie's out and screaming apparently they remember familiar noises from when they were inside you, such as your voice, singing and music and stuff so id say play to your hearts content. It deffinatley won't hurt LO.
My OH plays the sax and I'm a singer, so ours is always around music (plus i play lots of heavy metal) hehe xx

...I'm sure it will be just fine.

And, as somebody already said... it will be a sound that baby recognises on the outside and will remind them of when they were in the womb which has a calming effect.
