Was anyone in UK told the gender at 20 week scan?

I've been told they don't tell you anymore but I've also heard sometimes they do? If the sonographer can clearly see and they know you want to know the sex would they tell you?

I got told. I just asked before they started and said I would like to know. On the report I got it says "Genitalia - Normal" so they check it anyway.

Ask though, just in case

I found out at mine! It was the first thing they asked when i went in

I think some hospitals have a policy not to tell gender but i dont think its that common.
I know they wont offer a rescan tho if you want to know and they cant see for whatever reason.
Xx

Different hospitals have different policies, but we got told on Tuesday. I told the lady as I came in that I wanted to know, and she said sometimes it is difficult with the new screens not to know even when people choose not to, because babies sometimes decide to flash.
In our hospital they recently installed big screens that you can see in front of you on the wall while laying down and can see everything that the sonographer sees. I like them.

I was told when I had my son. I think my 20 week scan was in around March last year. I know there used to be some hospitals that wouldn't tell you but not round where I live x

A few hospitals have stopped because of complaints when wrong sex was given. Sometimes they find it easier just to say no. My hospital (Sunderland Royal) does tell you however they stress that that it is never 100%

I always see what baby is before they tell me but they confirmed what I saw. I had a scan at 14+4 and saw boy bits then had my next scan at 21 weeks x

We were told at my anomaly scan and it was the first question she asked! She also said she wouldnt feel confident on telling us unless she was going to pick out those colours for her own baby! I think it depends on what they can see but with my son it was very obvious!! im pretty sure without my glasses on (and im very short sighted) i would have said lol!
