Mother makes me so angry

HIya,

Ya know some days I really feel that I or someone should really smack my mother in the mouth. I know this sounds severe but the woman is a stuck up, self righteous, sanctimonious old bat.

She is one of those women who delights in hurting my father daily and loves to put me down and make me feel like crap. She has done this for years, had a massive bearing on my mental health and is adamant on destroying my dad.

When I told her I was pregnant some 10 weeks ago she basically said that she was not happy, could never find it within herself to ever be happy, that this baby was nothing short of a disaster and I deserved all the unhappiness in the world. She also stated that I must not ever ask her for anything and must never expect her to be around to help me with this baby. She stated that she had helped out with my other two children who are both 16 and 14 but she has done her bit and will not do any more.
There wasn't much I could say to this, she has made her position perfectly clear. However I did tell my dad about it a couple of weeks ago and he basically said she is a stupid selfish thoughtless woman and that her opinions where her own and certainly not a reflection of the way he thinks.

Anyway, last week she mentioned that a friend of hers had asked about me, she told him I was doing fine but she added ' I didn't tell them about the baby though' I didn't say anything about it and bit my tongue. Today low and behold the thoughtless cow comes into my house and does and says the same thing again. Her friend Margaret had asked how I was, she told them I was doing great and had moved house 'but I didn't tell her about the baby though'.

Does the selfish thoughtless cow ever stop to think how hurtful this is to me? I am NOT a child. I am almost 39 years old and I don't see why on earth at my age I have to tolerate such a selfish thoughtless comment. The only problem is, if I say anything back to her she will throw an illness and present herself in hospital and it will be all my fault, as she has done several times in the past. My dad even has to shut his mouth and say nothing and be constantly walked all over.

I am beginning to despise this woman. During my first pregnancy 16 years ago she ripped a hole in my arm with her sharp talons because I dared to disagree with her in mothercare when I told her that the maternity wear was downstairs and she said that it wasn't, she claimed it was at the back of the store on the ground level. I disagreed and said no mother its downstairs. The foul beast snarled through her teeth at me and pinched my arm so hard she drew blood and claimed how dare I speak to her in public. I wish someone would slap her in the mouth I really do.

If anyone is to slap the nasty woman in the gob it's you, how dare she speak to you like that and make you feel that way.
Hard decision or not I would walk away from her, if she presents an illness speak to a doctor about the severity and then walk away again, she will start to realise she's not in control!

Oh my god! that's disgraceful behaviour from a grown woman, there's no way i could not say anything to that, i have a 'strange' relationship with my mum and sister my sister especially, she speaks before thinking a lot of the time and the things she says can be hurtful, but i know she means no harm so i mostly let it go, my mum tends to just go along with whatever, if anyone, family or not spoke to me or treated me like that i would flip out at 39 years old you should not have to put up with that.

I say good on you having another baby after such a long gap, if you are happy and content then who cares, tell her to mind her own business and stop ruining your special time.

oh no!! Hunny she is sooo not good for you to be around! You need to change your number, move again just get away from her! I swear she seems like the kind of person that had a kid just so she could have someone that couldn't get away to control and put down. She has some serious mental issues that she needs fixed before you allow her in your life. I know she is your mother but sometimes its better to let those kind of people go. I am so sorry she is putting you through this, just remember you don't deserve this kind of treatment and she doesn't deserve you in her life. Wishing you the best!

I do believe that the only reason I am here is the result of an accident as my parents had been married 16 years before I was born. She was happy with her life pre motherhood, going on holiday all over the place and treating my dad like dung in public. She has always made it so very clear how I cramped her style and all her health issues were as a result of being pregnant with me. A week doesn't go by when she throws it in my face how she ate nothing all the time she was pregnant with me and itched from head to toe. I think she is best kept at arms length and ignored or I will end up doing something I later regret.

yeah with pregnancy hormones running through us at the moment, no one is exactly safe lol. Plus all the crap you go through while pregnant shouldn't matter anymore once you are holding that beautiful baby that you created, all the aches and pains are worth it in the end.
