This is what we did for DS3. As we don't own our own home and they are always in with us for the first year, we just did a bedding theme rather than a nursery. The sheets and cot skirt I had custom designed as I couldn't find anything I liked that went with the bumper and quilt.

As for DD, well, ALL her's is custom made because I can't buy what I want. The top photo is the 2 different cotton prints I have picked out for 2 sets of sheets (one set per print) which I will pay for in a couple of weeks when the lady I have ordered them is able to make them. The second is her quilt design. I haven't gotten to the bumper and skirt yet but I'm looking at close to $500 when all that's finished. But I designed the Harley Quinn theme literally days after giving birth to DS3 and I'm doing it.

Hubby will pay half of the the cot and capsule as we don't need anything else major as we have it all. But those 2 things can wait until after Christmas. Won't cost us any more than $600 anyway.

Love this thread! I'm not starting yet because I'm only 20 weeks but man have I got some ideas! Baby is going to end up sharing with her brother as we only have 2 bedrooms, but there's no rush to redecorate as she'll be in with us for at least 6 months. Her brothers room is painted baby blue with some wooden letters spelling his name that I hand painted (even though I'm crap at crafts!) when he was a newborn so they're special. I want to do the same thing for her, repaint that whole wall white (leave the others blue because I cba ) and stick her name underneath his and then a wall sticker I found on etsy that says "you are our greatest adventure". I actually teared up when I saw it haha #hormones. And I thought an adventure type theme was pretty unisex.

Here it is, officially finished! Actually, there is one more thing to do which is attach the knobs on the change table. DH's dad made the change table! I am absolutely in love with the room!

Aw that's so nice, it's amazing that your FIL made something, wish mine lived nearer because he totally would too and it's really nice to have things you or family made yourself (and cheaper haha). Love the guitar
