Hi! I didn't know during pregnancy but my son had this, it's called Hydronephrosis. He was born with it alongside other kidney problems and was at high risk of kidney failure but by 18 months old one kidney looked normal and when we last looked when he was 4.5 there was only mild residual Hydro in his left kidney. It does not and never has had any effect on him. I also know of people who found out during pregnancy but it resolved before birth. Do they have any idea what may be causing it? There are great groups on Facebook of you use it, just search 'Hydronephrosis Children' and a few should come up. As I said, I didn't go through it in my pregnancy but have been involved with other parents who have so know the drill, also went through it from when my son was 4 weeks old so if you like you can also message me.

My son had an array of issues including kidney dialation. He had a scan at 3 months in nicu showing it but by ~18 months at a check up it had resolved itself and everything is fine.

I have another ultrasound for them to have a better check on it so hopefully they can figure out what's causing it. It's so scary finding out something like this I just keep wondering if it's something I did wrong to make his kidney like this I'm so sad I hope it resolves on its own. I'll keep you updated on my next ultrasound they're trying to book it for 3 weeks from now I'm so nervous for it. Thank you so much for the reply!

If it shows it hasn't cleared up by the time he's born are they going to have to take him away as soon as he comes out? They did say it's minor so I'm hoping it's gonna resolve itself before he's born
