announcement on facebook

Just wondering how you announced your pregnancy on facebook? The only people that we have told so far is family and close friends. I am planning to announce my prego status on facebook probably next week. Anyone have any suggestions on what to say?

Well, for me, I did it right after new years! I changed my pic to a picture showing my bump and just changed my status to read "In 2010, I would change nothing about my life. I'm loving every part of it!" Everyone caught on from there!!

I am in the same position as you, we've told close family and friends but we are going to wait until after our 20 week scan this week end before announcing. I'm thinking of saying "OK the gig is up! I'm not fat - I'm pregnant - baby due 7th June" something like that xxxx

My husband decided to announce on FB straight after our 9 week midwife appointment. We had told family at 8 weeks, so they already knew.

I hadn't banked on anything that early, and because we have so many mutual friends, I didn't want them congratulating me on my wall before my other friends found out, so I had to come up with something really fast.

I had intended to post a photo of our scan, and just let people jump to conclusions, but this was three weeks before our scan was due, so in the end I just said something like "Lara is feeling pretty rough right now; oh, that's because I'm having a BABY!"

I was inundated with congratulatory messages within a few minutes

I waited until after my 12 week scan then announced it on Facebook, along with the scan pic

I didn't make a real announcement.. just waited until I'd told my Dad and work, neither of which were until after 20 weeks!.. and then put my status to 21 down, 19 to go or something. Most people caught on straight away, especially now I've put a scan pic on
