Thirsty all the time

Yesterday evening I went to bed but was feeling so thirsty I drank 4 pints of water and still felt really thirsty but left it as didn't want to over drink as I was needing to go to the loo every 10 mins so I couldn't of been dehydrated. Then today same time as yesterday I am feeling extremly thirsty yet again and have a slight headache also.

I am really unsure what it could be,
has anyone else felt the same,
advice would be much appriciated, thanks girlies x

hey,
I've been similar and drinking lots. I thought it was a sign of a potential urine infection so I got checked out but midwife said I was ok. I'm not sure what else it can be, she told me not to worry. I would get checked out for a urine infection too though just be sure. Also, try and avoid salty food etc which can make it worse! xx

I think I'll try a day without salty foods tomorrow and see if that helps if not I will give my midwife a ring. Thank you xx

oh, and my mam is a nurse and advised that I have some fruit such as a pear to help quench the thirst, rather than overdrinking which can hyper stimulate your bladder and make your wee sting - adding to the worry that you have an infection when you don't!

Extreme thirst can also be a sign of diabetes so it might not be a bad idea to get your glucose levels tested. Gestational diabetes is somewhat common so probably not a bad idea to rule it out.

I'm thirsty alot too and usually just at night time so i went to the poundland shop and bought a 1 litre sportsbottle and fill it up with juice each night and take it to bed with me so if i wake up thirsty i have a drink ready next to me. Like someone else said though sometimes salty foods can make you feel thirsty even when you don't need a drink. Don't ignore it though, if you feel thirsty continue to drink, i know it's annoying but it'll pass and it's worth it =)
