Pressure 'down there'

(forwarning sorry of any TMI )

For the last couple of days I've felt a weird pressure in my vaginal area, it's around the middle under where the belly button would be, but inside. It feels a bit like something needs to come out, or i need to pee or something(can't really describe it) or the baby is going to fall out!
I know that's silly thinking the baby will 'fall out' because i'd be going through pretty strong contractions before I got that far but that's how it feels!
I'm starting to worry this could be the start ot pre-term labour? (which im terrified about)

also, for the last week sometimes i can feel small amounts of liquid coming out occassionally. It's not much, only about the size of a penny in my underwear and I'm not sure if it's discharge or what! but now im freaking out its amniotic fluids or something.

I've made an appointment with my MW tomorrow, do you think she'll check my cervix for me just to make sure its closed and nothing is going on down there too early?

Also, anyone else felt this weird pressure about 18 weeks or so and could it just be my uterus growing and putting more pressure on everything/where baby is laying?
I've been listening on my doppler and the baby is moving around and kicking in there, very active.

xxxx

Have you ever done any pelvic floor (kegel) exercises? If not, it might be that your muscles aren't holding everything quite as snugly as they should, and the wet bit might be wee? You can start doing the exercises now, and it should help not only this, but also your delivery, recovery and sex life!

Definitely talk to MW about it though, just in case it's something else.

I've been having pressure too! Feels like baby is really low down. i thought this was due to the fact that it's my second but maybe it is just baby growing, i seem to have got quite big over the past two weeks x

I felt a fair bit of pressure low down for the past 3 or so weeks and it was the baby lying sideways across my womb and quite low. That was until I was lying on the bed after work on my side a few days ago and I felt baby wriggling, stretching and turning for about 5 minutes solid and then I felt him or her move through 90 degrees so that s/he is now vertical. My bump has changed shape completely and I feel a lot more comfortable with no heaviness at the bottom of my bump any more It might be worth asking your midwife to tell you where/how the baby is lying I agree with you that the wetness could well be discharge.

Yeah I have a sorta 'pressure' feeling 'down there' too. I thought it was just my uterus stretching or growing or possibly a bladder infection that I allegedly have (according to my Dr)? Never really thought about it too much. Hope the MW helps. xx
