That makes sense. They say if you have a stomach ache, to drink a little bit of soda. The carbonation is supposed to settle your stomach.

Diet soda is disgusting .

My doctor said 3 cans of soda a day. I usually have one coke a month, I switched to caffeine free pepsi and it tastes the exact same as pepsi, I love that the States stock crazy arse soda

EDIT: When I do have a soda it usually causes bubs to keep me up all night also regardless of the position I lay in!.

I drink lots i must admit, i have always drank a lot of fizzy pop and cola is my fave but it has to be the "proper" one, i crave the feeling of fizz in my mouth, i was worried i might make my baby smaller but he is measuring 2 weeks ahead lol so im sure im not harming him.

I have stopped smoking so i think i have stopped a worse thing than some fizzy pop

I used to drink a LOT of Diet Coke before i got pregnant, but since being pregnant i have gone right off it. It's only this week that i've craved fizzy again, and have started drinking Dr Pepper. Only like 2 glasses a day, which i've been told is fine. I heard somewhere that the "limit" is 5 cans of soda per day, so go on and treat yourself to that Coke with lemon x

I am still drinking coke, you are allowed upto 8 cans a day, that is what the notes in my green folder say or go and buy decaffinated.

I have just taken this off the nhs website, will post the link in a mo:-
Limit the amount of caffeine you drink every day, but you don't need to stop it completely. If you have more than 300 mg a day, then you raise your chances of having a low birth weight baby or even miscarriage of your pregnancy.

300mg of caffeine is roughly the same as:

three mugs of instant coffee
four cups of instant coffee
three cups of brewed coffee
six cups of tea
eight cans of cola
four cans of energy drinks

http://www.porthosp.nhs.uk/what-shou...-pregnant.html
eight (50g) bars of plain chocolate or 16 similar sized milk chocolate bars

My gosh 8 cans of Cola, my cheeky doctor is cheating me!.

I always say with everything they are called guidelines for a reason, you use your brain and common sense with food/drink during pregnancy and you will be fine.
