Are foam or spring mattresses better for baby?

Any ideas?

spring will last longer and less likely to sag. i got mine for DS from babymattressesonline.co.uk and its fab, its really well made, lovely material and miles cheaper than mothercare or babies r us etc. my mum had to have one made in an unusual size for a travel cot she has at her place and they were great with her request. i will be getting one from them for this baby too.

i was told a sprung mattress is good if using it for a cotbed as it will last longer, babies r us in store are doing a cotbed sprung mattress £139 down to £69 bargain !! i brought one myself and was really pleased i decided to buy the mattress that day
