A little confused

I have just been told that apparently my midwife has put me down as "needing extra support" ... Can not remember now what it was called ... Something client - baby brain kicking in ha ha. Anyway apparently this means that she will see me more times than usual and for up to 4 weeks after the baby is born aswell as the healt visitor. Anyway ... Has anyone else been told this? I am a little confused as what she is gonna do ... Ok so I have seriosu baby brain going on and it's like almost 10pm and I'm shattered ... Think I need to ask again tomorrow!

Erm ... There was a reason! ... Oh yeah because I have had depression for about 3 years and they are a bit concerned about how I will cope mentally with a new baby or something ...

Wouldn't worry about it. Looks like they are just a wee bit concerned that you might be more prone to postnatal depression due to having deprssion in the past.

Think of it this way if you do have problems you'll get extra help rather than being left to suffer alone and if you don't have problems then what's the problem with a few extra visits. Better to be cared for than be neglected.

Then it's a good thing - are you worried about it at all?

Well just confused. But seeing as baby brain has kicked in - and it's quite late too ha ha - I think I need to find out again what was said and the reason. Because otherwise I am gonna stay confused!
