OMG!! just heard on the news about swine flu

So,just heard on the news that their saying the swine flu is going to come back with a vengeance over winter

and the most vulnerable are OAP's and Pregnant Ladies

What do we do,as Im guessing we are all going to be confronted with the issue arising with either the midwifes or doctors telling us to get the vaccination jab

So do we take the jab or not!!!!

They compleatly over estimated how many people were going to be affected last year so i would take it with a pinch of salt.

Regular flu has been rampaging through my office and appears I'm one of the few who's not had it so I'm steering well clear of anything vaccine like.

I don't want the vaccine and didn't have it in my last pregnancy because as far as i can see too little is known about it but then my sister got swine flu and i saw how poorly she was. It was awful, she developed pneumonia and was so sick she was in hospital for weeks. It really made me think about possibly considering it this time. I'm stuck and will really struggle with this decision.

Some boffin says it's "reasonable to expect" it to come back, but not that it actually has come back yet. I agree with lozzy21 - remember last time, everyone panicked but it wasn't half as bad as predicted.

I had it last year I was really ill but not as bad as some it seems. I didnt take the prescribed mediaction as my daughter says it makes you worse before better.
I wont have the vaccine as I dont want to risk MMC and will take the risk of catching it instead

I am completely stuck as well. I had it last year and although felt a bit unwell after nobody at my work had serious side effects. What you have to think is if you get swine flu it could be a lot worse than having the jab. and plus we all had our immune systems to help last year

According to my MIL who's a nurse at the hospital I work at, swine flu's no worse than ordinary flu, but it was so hyped up by the media that all the deaths got put out there, it's scaremongering :/
