Weight gain??

Hey ladies, I'm 18+3 weeks at the moment but I've only put on about 1.5kgs since I found out I was pregnant. Apparently I'm supposed to be putting on about 1/2kg per week from what I've read.

Also I'm only just starting to show a bit and still in my regular jeans, where as my friends were all well into maternity trousers by this point.

Should I be worried about the lack of weight gain? Or should I just put it down to the fact that everyone is different and shows and puts on weight differently??

I'd put it down to everyone being different. My friend lost almost 20 lbs and didn't show until she was 8 months, and her sister is carrying the same. As long as you are eating right and doing what you can I wo uldn't stress on your weight.

I have put on 24lbs so far! Hopefully this will slow down and my appetite will calm down and help me but at the moment I am just so hungry all the time

Hi NZBlondie!
I've been meaning to check in with you, you don't have a journal do you?Pleased to see you here! How are you and do you have bump pics anywhere??

As for weight gain, no as long as you are eating I wouldn't worry at all. Everyone is different. My bff is 20 weeks preggers and I tell you she's lucky if she's put on 5lbs! She has no bump and not really much weight gain either. She sees an obstetrician regularly and they have not said anything about her lack of weight gain.

Also if you are having your anomoly scan soon (or had it?) they would tell you if they thought babes was underweight.

Good luck! and keep me posted on how you are!

xoxo

Everyone is different. I was really worried as I've only put on around 3lbs so far and I'm over half way there, didn't have any morning sickness either so can't put it down to that! Bubs is measuring fine and Dr or midwife don't seem to be worried so I'm just counting myself lucky!

I am going through the 'is she or isn't she' phase atm and people who don't know Im pregnant might be thinking Ive had one too many cream cakes!

im sure the bump will be there soon! xx

I haven't put on aaaany weight and I'm proud as punch lol. I'm eating well and eating more often (I got told off for not eating enough). I think it depends on your weight before the pregnancy too, (I've got a few extra pounds) and these extra are used to feed the baby too.. (I'm sure I've read that somewhere..)

LOL blondey!! The "is she or isn't she" quote made me laugh! I'm always sucking it in everywhere I go in the hopes that peeps don't think I've eaten too many cream cakes. I've got no real bump but I am just so darned bloated all the time!!
