Support from your OH

following on from my pity post this afternoon, I've just got back from my mock driving test, which was probably the worst driving I have done so far, but actually on the whole I'm feeling ok about it, I know where I went wrong and how to fix it etc.
when I got back hubby wanted to see the test sheet and I really didn't want to show him. He went grouchy saying I should trust him, but it's not that. I just feel like it would be out of context and actually make me look worse than I am.
Sorry this isn't as off topic as it sounds, it has just made me wonder about the support I have been getting during the pregnancy and will get at the birth. Hubby tries to support me, but often it's not the type of support I need. Like right now I need a big hug, him to run me a bath and wrap up in my pj's. He wants to support me by going through the test sheet and just carrying on with cooking and going to the shops. does this make sense, do you get the right kind of support from your OH's?

aww hun. Men are abit useless at times it has to be said lol, tell him you need looking after more My OH is in afghan for 6 months he will be back in 8 weeks so the support is kinda strange at the moment, he always asks how baby is etc but i never get the cuddles on an evening, baths run for me etc but i would just tell your hubby to be a bit more caring towards you you are pregnant with his baby after all xx

The only solution is to talk to him - it sounds as though he wants to support you which is a great start! He's just not doing it quite how you want but he won't know that he's got it wrong unless you have a chat.

Good luck with your driving test!

Men are practical souls, hence him wanting to go over the test with you and cooking etc. He will be convinced this is what you want. You need to tell him exactly what you want otherwise he won't have a clue! Just tell him how appreciative you are helping you, but THIS is what you want....

Awe thanks ladies, just had a bit of a hormonal moment there I think, he actually just made me a cup of tea and asked if I wanted a bath, so looks like spoke to soon!! It's probably so he can have more time on the xbox whilst I'm in the bath but it's a start!

It sounds like he's a bit like mine, if I come to him just needing to rant about something he automatically tries to fix things for me - I just need him to listen. It's all part of there I am Man big protector type thing, which is lovely but sometimes not what you need.
