Can you tell the baby parts and position from the 'kicks'?

If you feel a lot of movement in one particular area, do you think it's most likely that that is where the baby's feet are, or is it just as likely that it's their hands, elbows, etc?

My DD was breech, so I was hoping that lots of high up movement meant that this one was head down already. Not that that means much at this stage I know, as they turn so much still, but it would be nice to have some kind of indication a few weeks down the line.

I didn't feel movement till 21 weeks so just after my scan so knew the position she was in at that time. Think its still the same as most prods and nudges I feel are at the right hand side where her legs were. I do get the odd movement the other side though so she's either moving right round or she's punching as well as kicking

Mine were like that until recently too Linny, but now I get lots of nudges in the middle near the top of my bump, but also some smaller ones low down near the bottom. I'm really hoping the top ones are kicks and the bottom ones are hands!

I've been told by various professionals that generally the quick, sudden and sharp movements that make you jump are mostly the hands and elbows, and slow and rolling type movements are feet/knees/bums.
