When I first got pregnant I was having trouble sleeping b/c I came off medication I was taking for insomnia anyway ( I have multiple sclerosis and sleep is an issue for me) anyway the doc prescribed me benadryl b/c it contains the same ingredient as some over the counter sleep aids and it worked a treat so I've been taking a benadryl every night since about 5 weeks.
I went to the doc today to get a repeat and both of the docs said they won't prescribe any antihistamines b/c they don't like to in pregnancy this is the doc that originally prescribed it for me! (this was all through the receptionist, I didn't see the doc myself)
I asked the receptionist if I'd done any harm and she said no you'll be okay but I'm shitting myself now that I've harmed my baby
Well that is rubbish! I am just coming off my anti sickness tablets and the ones i was one for the longest were actually just strong antihistamines. I also take benadryl for allergies and did with my daughter too. Don't worry hun, all will be fine xx
