Re-assurance needed before 20 week scan

I have my 20 week scan next week. I've seen some of the scan pics and how clear the baby is, but I can't help thinking they'll have difficulty with me, because i am 'obese'.

I have a BMI of 35.1. My 12 week scan picture wasn't great, but I was assuming that was because of the position of the baby.

Will they be able to check baby accurately?

my bmi is 35 and my pics were fine, it depends on how the baby is lying ect and how skilled the person doing the scan is / if they can be bothered getting you a nice pic (some of them are mean!)

my avatar is my 12 weeks scan =) xxx

Make sure you drink plenty beforehand as that should push your uterus forwards too but I have heard of plenty of ladies on the more cuddly side who have had problem-free scans. Good luck.

At my booking appointment my bmi was about 43 - lost a bit of weight since but had no probs with either scan - and believe me I am VERY flabby around my waist - so don't worry xx

Like someone already said just make sure you drink plenty before you go - my bladder was almost empty despite drinking loads which did make things a bit more difficult be she still got all the measurements ok xxxx

Thank you

I've got a growth scan at 32wks and they are going to check my placenta because it seemed a bit low, but the woman said that could just be because I hadn't drunk enough so that is another reason to make sure you have so much you can hardly hold it lol

Thanks. When I went for my 12 week scan I was really late being seen, so i nearly had to go to the toilet to let it out. Let's hope they don't keep me waiting too long this time! I have a growth scan at 30 weeks as well because of my BMI. xx
