Your whole circulatory system goes through major expansion to support baby, and nerves and stuff can get pressed or pinched.
Sciatica only refers to the sciatic nerve which is indeed down the back end!
Another very common pregnancy symptom is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. That usually affects the hand and wrist, but it might go up the whole arm. I don't know enough about it.
Maybe it's worth googling?
Peace of mind is always worth a quick call to the clinic or wherever you are going for prenatal. I'd do that even if you do figure it out using the internet.
You are right, it is carpel tunnel syndrom... Damn this sucks, first the sciatica and now my left arm is going... I might be going on Mat leave sooner then expected Everything has just happened in the last week.
Have a look at past threads, I recall an old one where people with it recommended various arm bands or other things that can help. If you use a computer for any length of time make sure you have proper wrist support too. I hope it eases up.
Thanks guys, In one way I do think its carpul tunnel, and in another way I actually dont think it is.
Ive had various injuries to my shoulders from riding and had one last year that pinched a nerve in my back bad enough to send that whole left shoulder and arm into pain/numbness and I couldnt even move it for over a week... Im kind worried something is coming back up with it from being at work.
