Ok so i do have a previous history of preeclampsia from my previous pregnancy. I didnt get the floaters and flashing lights in last pregnancy just very high bp and protein and it was picked up at that stage.
Last week I went for 2 routine mw checks , one my bp was 120/70, perfect then the day inbetween I had a one off episode of flashing floaters when I woke up and sat up quickly. I told my midwife the next day and my bp was 120/80 no protein in sample either and she said it just sounds like a little blip and no problems.
So last check up was fri when i had bp of 120/80 which is still just my booking blood prssure anyway but today i was in the garage getting something out of the freezer, I bent down to pick up something I dropped and when I stood up had a very brief episode of the flashing floaters, it stopped within seconds and was not as prenounced as last time but what do you think? Do I need to ring mw and report as due to history they said to let them know if had any headaches or flashing lights???The thing is I know its probably just something silly but I always panic that Im being neglectful if I dont report any tiny little thing whcih could be pre eclampsia starting up again???
Does anyone else get these flashy floaters in eyes and whats starts them off for you?
I get the lights kinda thing sometimes .. i had it earlier when i felt sick actually . Its not something silly even though it may seem like it everytime ive worried over something i find it silly but its better to be safe then sorry .
I would call her see what she says - will put your mind at rest im sure x
the two episodes this pregnancy have been when I have woken up and stood up quickly, this lasted a good 1-2 mins before I got vision back to normal. This episode today was only maybe one or two and again I bent down and stood up quick.Maybe its just linked to fall or rise in bp when moving suddenly?
I get floaters and flashing when I get up too fast, also if blood sugar low.
With a history of pre eclampsia though, it is much better to get checked out, I had severe preeclampsia my first pregnancy and I remember the floaters to be entirely different, I would discribe them as being like black moths in my vision. They didn't appear for me until my bp had raised 60 points.
Everyone is different though, so get your gp/midwife to see you, good luck
