Sleeping On My Back!..

Hello Girls just a quick question
My bumps big for 23 weeks and ive been suffering from bad back ache near my shoulder blades and in the middle of my back with that along with a bad sleeping pattern its so hard to get to sleep when i want to
I end up sleeping on my back because its the most comfortable position for my back ive heard that its bad for you??? At my stage of pregnancy is it effecting the baby?? xx
Thankyou girs x

My pregnancy book says to stop sleeping on your back from 16weeks bcause the womb presses down on the aorta which runs down your back. I can restrict the flow of blood to your baby and vital organs like kidneys. If it's too uncomfortable to lie on your side it says as long as your propped up on pillows (not completely flat on your back) it's ok!

sleeping on my back is the ONLY way I can sleep. When I'm on either side she kicks me about a little while of laying like that so I have to lay on my back. It's not recommended you sleep that way, I tend to sleep with 2 pillows so i'm slightly elevated though

Thats exactly what happened to me last time. IM only 17 weeks but im still gonna sleep on my back to where it becomes uncomfortable enough to attempt to sleep on my side!

Im still sleeping on my back, hasnt done any harm to me yet. They say you can become dizzy from it though as everything pushes on your main artery. As long as your comfy I say go ahead. Im happy as long as I get sleep. My bump is too heavy for me to lay on my side now! x

How many pillows do you have? I'd put 2/3 at your head, then 2/1 below it so your bum is still on the bed and you are gradually sloped upwards to your head! I'd say it'll be nice n comfy too!
