Baby poking my ribs???

Okay as I've said I've not felt baby too much as of late, and my tummy was super firm and now it's a little soft.
This morning I woke up on my left side and I was in pain. It feels as if bubs has got his toes lodged just under my left side of my ribs and just above my hip.
IT HURTS DAMMIT! Not felt him kick just this werid sensiation! Anyone else think he's got comfty here?

i would say it would be unusual for baby to be that high up at 21 weeks, as your uterus is normally only as high as your bellybutton around that stage? unless he has long limbs and is super stretching? i know a friend of mine had a baby whos limbs measured very long at her 20 week scan and she felt high kicks much earlier because of it

Maybe you felt baby higher because of how you were lying?
I was just wondering this. When a baby can reach up to the ribs?
Im 23+5 and my movements are really low down.
Think cos of anterior high placenta too i dont feel the higher ones.

People keep saying to me about baby kicking me in the ribs, ive not felt anything like that yet.

How long before my uterus should reach up to there anyone know? (not trying to steal your thread yazz honest lol)

22 week appointment today and doc said uterus was 3 fingers width above belly button. depending on body shape and how far ribs are etc...anything is possible. she said i'm growing up instead of out (as i'm not showing much at 22 weeks). i don't get kicks in my ribs, just about an inch and half above belly button--but it wont' be long!

It could be all your insides moving up as such, like your uterus growing. I have had like a stitch type feel in my ribs and i asked my mw about it on monday and she said it is because all your insides are being pushed up so it will be giving you that kind of feeling. It is very uncomfortable at times x

Around this stage I was convinced I was feeling baby up at my ribs but I then realised that when he was moving it was sort of vibrating and just felt like he was. It's only over the last couple of weeks that his kicks have started moving higher. They're now just at my belly button rather then down at my bikini line
