Hospital bag retail therapy! - *Hospital bag list included*

Well, as i've had a crappy few weeks i decided i'd treat myself today and buy some lovely things for my hospital bag! When i had Poppy i realised that some small things can make a big difference to how you feel when in labour and just after so today i ordered myself the following:

*A beautiful fluffy cranberry coloured towel (a dark towel was so necessary for after i had Poppy!)

*Some nice M&S Per Una slippers

*A soft but lightweight Per Una dressing gown

*Some smellies from The Body Shop. That first wash in my Body Shop Wild Cherry soap after i had Poppy made me feel so much better. Although i couldn't decide between coconut and wild cherry again so i ordered both!

All i have left to buy now is the essentials (formula just in case, toothbrush, baby things etc) and some nighties. I feel a little better now!

ETA: I had 2 bags, one for me and one for lo. The things i'd say you need are:

Your Bag

*2/3 Nighties - i found button down ones best.
*A pair of Pj's if you prefer them to nighties for after the birth
*Plenty of big, cheap knickers (wouldn't buy disposable ones personally, places such as primark do great cheapies).
*Maternity pads
*Breast pads
*Nursing bra
*Slippers
*Dressing gown
*Warm socks
*Eye mask
*Ear plugs
*Tooth brush & paste
*Nice soap
*Deodorant (i took roll on in case i was sharing a room as i didn't want to be choking anyone with my spray!)
*Face wipes/cleanser
*Shampoo & Conditioner
*Towel
*Brush/Comb
*Hair bobbles
*Lip balm
*Phone charger
*Hair dryer/straightners (i didn't take mine but i know lots of others did)
*Camera & accessories
*Comfy clothes for journey home
*Maternity notes!!!

Baby's Bag

* 2/3 Vests
* 2/3 Sleepsuits
* 2/3 Hats
* Scratch mits
* Blanket for coming home
* Outfit for coming home
* Formula (if you intend to ff, you can buy ready made up mini bottles from larger Boots stores
which saves time and effort in hospital. http://www.boots.com/en/SMA-First-In...-100ml_955186/ .)
* Nappies
* Muslin cloths
* Cotton wool (some hospitals don't like you using wipes on newborns)
* Nappy sacks
* Dummy if you intend to use one
* Minature wash things in case you end up bathing lo at hospital.
* Towel

I know some people take things like their own pillow and water sprays etc but i didn't. Don't forget to have the car seat ready in the car, a woman on the ward with me was all ready to leave at 8pm and her hubby had forgotten to put it in the car!

Feel free to add if i missed anything x

oh and dark knickers, OR disposable ones, OR cheapy ones you dont care if they get ruined, as you will bleed, A LOT and will leak onto the knickers whether you are wearing a pad or not lol. a dark pair of PJ's pr a dark nightie is a good buy too.
