The past few nights I've woken up in the middle of the night to lower back pain, almost like muscle spasms. Anyone else experience this? I have a pillow wedge, but I'm not sure if it's helping that much or not. The other maternity pillows are extremely expensive, and I'm hesitant to spend money on something that may or may not work.
OMG yes i am, I think my postures abit bad really.. but I tried folding a pillow in half and wedging it between my legs (i cant afford another pillow lol not yet)
I get it just from slouching on the sofa aswel,
Sometimes its so painful i litterally feel like i cant move incase i break my back or something its horrible.
Ive recently started sitting in the office swivvely chair for an hour or so really straight, its helped abit..
I've been having backpain off and on the last week. I have a pregnancy pillow but it doesn't always help. Most of the time I just find it annoying and in the way but if the back pain is really bad it does help to surround myself in pillows.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. It's just so startling to wake up and feel like my back is broken. I find that stretching it out a bit before trying to head back to sleep helps a bit, but it's still awfully uncomfortable. I will try putting a pillow between my legs too and see if that works.
Yeah, google coccydynia, thats what i did a few weeks back when it started in my lower back and coccyx... went to drs yesterday, she examined me but without me mentioning what i thought it was named she wrote on my notes that i had coccydynia so i was right... GO GOOGLE !
Bad news is she said it will get worse and there's nothing really i can do except rest enough, not carry heavy things (she felt my handbag and said it was too heavy and it ony had my notes, keys, purse and ipod in ! ) also take paracetamol, maybe try some swimming and some self massaging with warm oil...
Basically 'cause our bodies are going all soft so that we have space for a growing baby and so our hips can move apart for birth.. but it makes us all prone to aches, pains and pulling things
I have a maternity cusion, got it from Mothercare (it's their own brand V shaped one) and I must say it has given me the MOST brilliant sleep EVER ! it was about 20 quid which is good in comparison to the other branded ones at 40/50 !
