Vey mild contractions at 26 weeks!

Hi all,

I have been having VERY mild contractions every few minutes for the past two days. I am only 26 weeks on so I went to the hospital. Monitor confirmed theses were very small contractions and scan showed all was fine with the baby and sack and no water had broken. The doctor said "some times these things happen" and sent me home saying I should rest and that I should come back if they get worse.

The contractions feel the same, not worse but I am still worried and wondered if anyone else has had this sort of thing?

Please let me know asap...

Mishmish xxx

I would recommend plenty of water hun, it helps ward them off a bit. Dehydration can cause contractions x

I had this with my son, from around 25 weeks. They were strong enough to be measured and lasted too long for braxton hicks but all was fine and my son ended up coming 5 days late!

I'm now 25+1 and have been contracting since Boxing day. The only advice I can offer (and what I'm doing myself) is to keep hydrated, rest as much as possible and to keep aware of any changes in length or strength, calling your midwife if they seem different.

There is an upside.. 15 weeks of contractions = A well toned uterus (My labour with Cole was less than 2 hours from the first little niggle to holding him)
